Trip Reports - 10/21/98 Mt. Moran, Wyoming

Wayne,

A couple of pics from one of my favorite weekends this past summer.

Photo provided by Ken Hahn - Ken atop the Black Dike on Mt. Moran

One pic of me on top of the Black Dike nearing the summit of Mt Moran. The West tower rises just below and Jenny Lake is where we started and  left the canoe.

The second pic is the Grand Teton view from the summit of Mt Moran. The summit of Moran is about 12600, the size of a football fall and covered with 1' to 2' diameter angular rocks. The final 8 or 10 pitches is 5.4 steep, wide open slabs. We free climbed up and rapelled down the steeper parts. At the base of the slabs is a two pitch 5.7 called Drizzle-puss.

Keep in touch, Ken

Ken Hahn

Ken Hahn is one of the early members of the Flatliners who has moved on to greener pastures. He is now living in Idaho Falls.  Since leaving Gainesville, I've met up with Ken at The City of Rocks, Idaho and Smith Rock, Oregon , to climb, and enjoyed skiing  (snowboarding) with him at Big Sky, Montana last year.
