Outta Shape! Climbed for two years in Korea, but since I moved to Augusta Ga in July 05, I can't find a dedicated partner and I'm goin' downhill fast! Looking for someone to follow and lean from. Just moved to Macon Georgia after 8 years in Alaska and to put it mildly, I am hating life right now. I have been climbing for a while but never received any formal training until recently, when I was forced to go to the gym due to the lack of climbing around Macon. As it is I have to drive to Atlanta Rocks twice a week to get a taste and then I am at the mercy of the climber who's partner did not show that day.

I Have been to the rocks in Alaska, Yosemite, Mohab, and Devil's Tower and I have been told I am natural belayer. I'll drive just about anywhere and although I am a bit older than most at 45, I can hold my own up to a 5.9. I tried Moby Dick last August, but the first crux kicked my butt! I am 39 and I live in Kennesaw. A few weeks ago (Mid December '05) My Brother-In-Law invited me up to Lost Wall. I have been camping for many years so I was more excited about the camping part. Once I got on the wall and went through some basic instructions I ascended the wall. Needless to say I did not reach the top, but I was HOOKED. Later that afternoon we hit Rock Town and I had a blast even though I wore my fingertips out and bruised my ego a few times. Thank God for Crash Pads. Started climbing 6 yrs ago in UK. But been climbing more in past 2 years with the mountaineering club (small and humble). Training towards (need supervision hours) Mountain Leader Training England (Board) Single Pitch Award qualification to take people out climbing on single pitch routes, bouldering and indoors. Lead British Grade VS 4c, TR sandstone 5b+, Indoor (last time) 6b, have seconded recently up to E2 5b (Grit.S). Also do summer and winter mountaineering, ice climbing in Scotland (up to Grade 3, lead grade 2 - finished 2nd season). Over here just for summer. Only brought harness, boots, belay and helmet to save weight and space for travel from UK. Dying to climb, need a temporary climbing buddie.
