Call for Photos

Do you have a great picture of you or your friends climbing…outdoor or indoor? Have you ever wanted to share it with others so that they can see the thrill and challenge that is rock climbing? Well, this is chance to do just that; plus help some kids as well. I am currently collecting pictures of climbers to use as background shots for the text of a poem I wrote which uses climbing images / vocabulary to accent the challenge and thrill of teaching…specifically special education. Each line of this 32 line poem will be paired with an photo to create a lasting impression of verse and image. The overall effect should impress on those who read it that only by challenging yourself, physically, mentally and spiritually can you accomplish great things; a concept that both climbers and teacher know well. Proceeds will be used to establish a fund allowing students in a non public school setting to attend a high adventure camp in the Washington DC area. Providing life changing opportunities.

All those whose pictures are selected for publication will be given credit in the book and a complementary copy in addition to knowing that they were part of something great. Pictures and questions should be addressed to Dan Knudson at the following e-mail address rockclimbingpics@netzero.net Pictures need to be the personal property of those who submit them, please include with your submission: your name, the photographer’s name, the name of the subject (if different), place and date the picture was taken.

Thank you for sharing your love of the sport and your support of this cause.

Select verse for the poem, “Infinitives In My “Defense”

To know my strength before leaping
To execute a plan of attack
To place my faith in anothers hand’s
To gather what’s fallen slack
