Description
Enormous cliff faces visible from Highway 11 ( Cherokee
Foothills Scenic Highway ) on Table Rock Mountain, South Carolina
will set a climber drooling. Acres of 350 foot vertical granite
cliffs round off at the top of the mountain. Though tempted by the
site of the huge walls visible from the highway, almost all continue
on there way to other places once they learn of the long and difficult
approaches to the cliffs. Those willing to sacrifice the time and
effort, will be rewarded with excellent traditional and aid lines.

Miscellaneous
The scenic area around Table Rock Mountain has provided a popular
vacation retreat since a hotel and resort was built here in 1840.
A Civilian Conservation
Corps project, Table Rock State Park opened in 1940. Many of
the original buildings remain..
The mountains here rise 3000 feet in just a few miles. This can
make for volatile isolated weather problems. Be vigilant.
