Georgia Climbing Information
Georgia enjoys small sections of the two major geologic features
in the southeast. The tail end of the Appalachian Mountains play
out in the northeast corner of the state with remnants surfacing
as far south as Atlanta, while the northwest corner of the state
shares a piece of the Cumberland Plateau with neighboring Alabama
and Tennessee. All areas south of Atlanta are virtually devoid of
climbable rock. Though limited in area, the two regions offer uniquely
different types of rock and a diverse variety of climbing.
