1-18-04 Mailing to Southeast Climbers Registry members
<subject line> Message from Wayne at SoutheastClimbing.com
Hello from Wayne at SoutheastClimbing.com;
It’s time to verify the addresses in
the Southeast Climbers Registry. Yours is fine if you are reading
this message. (for more details on how the list is managed, go to
http://southeastclimbing.com/faq/faq_scr.htm#scr3). I invite you to revisit your listing and update
your entry by emailing changes to me at wayneb4737@aol.com. The Southeast Climbers
Registry is one of the most popular and useful features at SoutheastClimbing.com.
I’ve met many of you at the rocks who’ve hooked up with partners
via entries in the registry.
Though it hasn’t been immediately apparent,
there has been a lot of work going on at SoutheastClimbing.com.
It has taken me nearly a year to reign in the old Flatliners web
site and bring it to a common URL. This should make site management
much better and reduce the number of errors and broken links dramatically.
You may still come across a few, but I’ll do my best to fix them
quickly if you report them to me.
More than 75 trip reports http://southeastclimbing.com/trip_reports/trip_report_list.htm
now share a common format and location. A few were
retired. Almost all of the photos were re-scanned to improve their
quality. If you have links to any of these old reports (hosted at
any address other than southeastclimbing.com), you will want to
update your links to the new addresses. The old sites will soon
be shutting down. If you’d like to send a trip report, visit http://southeastclimbing.com/faq/how_to_send_your_trip_report.htm
for some guidelines.
There are now more than 500 climbing
photographs posted in the photo galleries
http://southeastclimbing.com/gallery/gallery_list.htm
.You can expect this section to continue its’ rapid growth as new
climbing areas, trip reports, and submissions from you are posted.
If you think you have an extraordinary climbing photo you’d like
to add, please send it to me. Some tips on sending photos are posted
at http://southeastclimbing.com/faq/faq_gallery.htm#pho7.
Now that this monumental reorganization
task is behind me, I plan to focus on expanding the number of climbing
areas listed and branch out into some new states. I’ll be seeking
input from those areas you are familiar with to enhance the content
and insure the accuracy of the information I post. I‘m also going
to start using the Climber Mail List http://southeastclimbing.com/mail_list.htm
to keep in better contact with you. I’ll be sending out an email
message to those on the Mail List near the first of each month to
keep you updated on events, do simple surveys, and inform you of
significant website improvements. I’ll strive to be concise and
not be a bother. If you’d like to remain listed at the web site
and NOT receive these monthly emails, you can change your entry
from the Climber Mail List to the Southeast Climber’s Registry by
emailing me at wayneb4737@aol.com.
I hope to share a rope with many of
you in this new year and look forward to hearing of your travels
and adventures.
Good climbing,
Wayne Busch
